There have been predictions made that a lot of work in the near future will be done by robots only. These robots will be capable of handling any required task at hand, they would analyze the situation and act according to their programming. However, robot assistants of such capability have not been prepared till now. However. We do have some robot assistants in several fields, who are programmed to perform only a certain kind of task.

4.   Medical – The robot assistants are used by doctors and nurses to perform certain critical operations and surgery such as laser treatment. Machines and robots have contributed a lot to the field of medical science. Many critical cases that could not be cured earlier, are being treated with a lot more ease now.

Disadvantages of Robot Assistants


·      Unemployment is increasing these times and as more and more robot assistants are being employed, a lot of people are losing their jobs. Human labor is no longer being needed and people are relying more on machines.

·      Machines require someone to monitor and work them. So, it adds the cost of hiring more people and teaching them to handle the equipment and monitor the working of machines.

·      The robot assistants are capable of handling only one kind of task. If a new situation arises. They are unable to handle it and this leads to disruption of the process.

·      If a machine needs to be tasked for other purposes then they need to be programmed first, also it can be tedious when doing one at a time.

·      People are relying a lot on robot assistants now. As a result, a lot of people are just sitting around lazily and letting the machines do all the work for them. This has led to several problems which are not good for the human body.
