Latest Fitbit Charge 4 Leaks Reveal Integrated GPS, Spotify Integration

Earlier in March, the upcoming Fitbit Charge 4 fitness tracker broke cover, revealing a design that was nearly identical to Charge 3 model. A newly leaked promotional video posted by Roland Quandt showed what makes the Charge 4 different — including the inclusion of built-in GPS, one of the old model's biggest missing features.

Features of the Fitbit Charge 4:

  • GPS is the most exciting new addition to the Fitbit Charge 4, giving users the ability to monitor their runs and display on a map how many minutes they spent in "plus Zones". It would allow users to track runs, bike trips and more without needing a phone together.
  • The battery life should last around 5 hours while using GPS, but the overall battery life is still up to 7 days.
  • Features like the OLED display and water resistance 5ATM remain unchanged.
  • NFC's already rumored introduction to Fitbit Payments, something that the company had previously provided on its Charge Trackers ' pricier "special edition" models, but not as a default option.
  • It has sleep monitoring with REM periods as well as "Pulse Zones" as far as other wellness apps are concerned. This enables the user to use the Fitbit app on their phones to monitor where they were especially successful on a training path.
  • The Fitbit Charge 4 will apparently also provide "cycle tracking" for women's safety.

All current features of the old Charge 3 are still in operation:

  • You can track your actual exercise statistics in real time.
  • Get essential phone notifications.
  • Benefit from smartwatch features such as timers, sleep tracking and alarms, and control music from your phone.

Any mention of Google-specific features is notably missing. While considering that Google only bought Fitbit last November in a $2.1 billion deal, it's probably too early for that sort of integration to appear in actual products.

According to an additional leak from WinFuture, the Charge 4 will cost € 149 while Fitbit Charge 4 SE will cost € 169— but unlike previous versions, where the SE edition offered NFC support that the standard model did not, the only difference here is that more bands will be included in the package.
