Is E-learning The Future Yet?

E-learning ' the saviour '.

The whole world is under an unprecidented crisis due to the devastating effects of n-COVID19 virus. People all around the globe have been affected due to it and almost every sector of our society is currently facing a growing problem of running things as they should be.

We talk about businesses encountering losses, we see economies creeping towards crisis and we obviously see the burden it is putting on our public welfare machinery.

But among all these things we somewhere tend to let an important sector hang loose i.e. Education sector.

Millions of students are currently facing a crisis of their own caliber in form of suspension of educational activities in schools, colleges and universities. Their biggest fear is about the pressure that they'll be put into to cope with their studies after this crisis is over.

Thankfully technology is helping out this young generation to eliminate this problem upto a very satisfying extent. Educational institutions around the world were already on the way to become technology friendly before the crisis began. But the question is, is it the future yet? Is the world ready to learn solely on the basis of technology with no need for physical presence at the schools at all?

Well the answer is a yes as well as a big no.

Online learning a headache as well.

Yes, because of the obvious ease of access and flexibility of online learning. Where one can learn from the comfort, safety and convenience of their own home. This would be specially be a game changer for students in remote areas and places where there's less infrastructure.

But you see at the same time it would be a great challenge to implement a full scale online only learning system everywhere.

And there's not one but plenty of reasons why it may fail to deliver on it's purpose.

Now let's see the pros and cons of online teaching so that you may get a better understanding of both the scenarios,

Pros;

- fast, time saving and effective.

- helpful in connecting the farthest of places with the education machinery.

- growth of a new era of technological and social change.

Cons;

- not a very good option for developing countries and populous countries.

- the evident poor internet and telecommunication services.

- a very big and ambitious step really, to rule out such a long tradition of schooling and replacing it with technology. Which can obviously create social problems.

- and most importantly the level of technology friendliness would be the decisive factor in the success of this initiative.

Now despite all it's cons we cannot deny the future role of this technology driven education system. And when I say future, sadly that not for at least another 10 to 20 years.

But for the time being, learn as much as you can in this time at your hand and stay healthy.

See you again, with another one very soon.
