FUTURE WITH 5G NETWORKS

3 years ago

We are living in such an era where we depend upon every advanced technology. From doing online shopping to learning digitally, we need everything to be very advanced and it should be going with our current generation. Otherwise, our youngsters will not satisfy with the gadgets that they are using and they will not forget to mention and use the term “Ancient”. If we love to learn something by using blackboard and chalk then our youngsters and our children love to learn digitally, even whiteboard and markers are also ancient method of teaching for them. They want something crazy, updated and latest technology to adapt anything. When their learning is this much advanced then you can assume about the gadgets and technology they need.

So, describing this much will be meaningless if we don’t mention 5G which is the most awaiting thing of our young generations. 5g is a wireless standard which promises to bring faster mobile internet speeds and new services to market. The term “5G” itself refers to the fifth-generation standard for mobile communication. 5g will be up to 100times faster than 4g and it will help to create new services and technologies.

If we talk about the future of 5g networks in our country then we have to think twice about it. The most asked questions by our youngsters are about launching of 5g and should we buy 5g mobile or not.

Let's think about current scenario of 5g and future of 5g;

No one knows about the launching of 5g and its future but we can assume a bit about it. Indian Telecom industry and its ecosystem is not in a good shape. They have to pay more than thousand crores to government and the amount is increasing day by day. Vodafone and Idea have to pay 50,000crore AGR due and their taxes which is already mounted up. At the same time, Airtel has to pay more than 27crores. In comparison to them, JIO has a bit less amount to pay as it is a new operator. These lists of payments of our Indian Telecom system are a big bad news for 5g networks.

The first step towards 5g is to set up air-waves in order to create 5g infrastructure through which data and call will be transferred. Buying air waves is the most important thing that you have to buy from government. Those air waves are very expensive. Government has fixed a reserve rate for buying those air waves that means you have to pay 492crores per a MHz block that means a telecom company has to set up a 20MHz block if they want to set up a 5g infrastructure. So the net amount will be a minimum of 50,000crore.

In order to launch 5g, telecom companies have to clear their pending taxes to government and after that they have to buy air waves and one thing is that they have to recreate their ecosystem according to 5g infrastructure. For doing these things, from where they will get a huge amount of money?

In China, people have to pay 5k-6k per month to get 5g services. But in India, people will not sure to pay this much money to afford and enjoy 5g. They will think a lot about it.

Myths about 5g;

  1. We all think that 5g is dangerous. But it is not like that.
  2. 5g will wipe out 4g.- it will not wipe out 4g. We can convert 4g networks into 5g.
  3. 5g is only about smartphones and faster- yes, it is but it is more than that. It has low latency.
  4. Will our 4g smartphones support 5g? - no, to enjoy faster and speed 5g network, one has to buy 5g smart phones.

Conclusion

We can make a thing clear in our mind that 5g is not easy to afford as we think about it. From creating its infrastructure to enjoy its faster network, latency and other facilities, it is very expensive. Due to pandemic the process to set up 5g infrastructure becomes slow. So, in future if it will be structured then it will not be affordable for all.
