In today’s world, everyone likes to live and enjoy their life under a digital umbrella. There was a day when everyone loved to go to the filed and play outdoor games also there is a day like today we love to play online games and we have made it a technology which is the most lovable and craziest thing among our youngsters.

Years ago the future of gaming was virtual but in 2020, companies are focused km cloud gaming.

What is cloud gaming?

Cloud gaming is a type of online gaming which runs video games. It is streamed directly from the service provider and runs on remote servers and streams directly to a user’s device. The user don’t have to installed it in his device. He just needs to access it.

Cloud gaming and it’s impact

Uses of cloud gaming functionally moves the processing power and the energy uses to drive it from your home to remote data centres are much powerful.

Someone can think of cloud gaming analogues to Netflix ,only for gaming. In cloud gaming , you are playing a game which is installed by the service provider. All you need is to access that game and you should have a proper network connection and a device.

Cloud gaming uses a lot of both data center capacity and network capacity. So the game has to process the data and run the video in a real-time. All of these energy consumption produces carbon emissions that contribute to the climate crisis.

We are living in such an era where we believe in visible things but at the same time we are using Netflix, playing online games ,doing our every work digitally from paying electric bills to diagnosing diseases. All these are not visible or not done physically but at the end we get our work done. So we believe that something is running. But some huge process takes time to give you a final result- for this statement you may take “Cloud Gaming” as an example. There is also a danger that the energy footprint of gaming becomes invisible and makes us careless about it.

A gamer with a costly and high-end PC knows it well than anyone how hot those PC can run and it’s hit on his energy bill. History shows when technology changes ,legacy technology still carries on alongside it for a time, says Hazas.
